Prominent speakers highlight women’s role in sectors like Healthcare, Advanced Manufacturing and Environmental Technology
Sharjah, March 6, 2024: Women leaders shared their experiences in Emerging Innovations in Healthcare, Advanced Manufacturing and Environmental Technology at a forum themed on ‘Women in Technology’, organised by the Sharjah Research, Technology, and Innovation Park (SRTI Park) to mark the International Women’s Day.
The forum brought together women experts from the technology sector, business leaders, and representatives of selected organisations to shed light on the role of women in technology and innovation, amplifying their global influence and maximizing their contributions to social and economic development.
Speaking on the occasion, Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SRTI Park, highlighted the crucial role of women in society, particularly their involvement in research, technological development, and innovation. He said the Women’s Day celebration reflecting the Park's goals of encouraging more women to engage in innovative technological activities.
Al Mahmoudi highlighted the Park's collaboration with local and international partners to identify more opportunities for women's economic empowerment in the region. He stressed the importance of positioning women as leaders, beneficiaries, and contributors in the fields of science, technology, and innovation. The focus should be on developing women's skills to prepare them with the future, especially in areas discussed at the forum, such as healthcare, advanced manufacturing, and sustainability.
The forum included speakers from global companies and institutions, including Microsoft, Astor DM Healthcare, Schlumberger (SLB), SAP Middle East, and Sharjah Sustainable City. Inspiring sessions delved into various topics, focusing on the role of women and their contributions to the adoption of Artificial Intelligence across diverse sectors, including scientific research and technological innovation.
